After visiting with county health, it was determined that the school would follow these guidelines for positive cases in our school buildings.
Un-vaccinated students
Low Level Contact (Classroom or Low risk sporting event where physical space and contact is at a minimum)
In the event of a student testing positive and a determination is made that the student attended school in the previous 48 hours, the parents of that building will be notified that their children were potentially exposed to a positive case. The first time this occurs, each building will send out a letter to all parents identifying the day the exposure took place. The letter will ask parents to monitor students for symptoms for 10 days and masks will be strongly recommended. For each subsequent exposure that happens after the initial 10 day monitoring period, the administration team will use Apptegy to notify parents of further exposures.
High Level Contact (High risk activities that include prolonged exposure and contact with a positive student)
Currently, for athletics, students will be subjected to the quarantine rules of county health.
***The district is in the process of evaluating and participating in the “Test to Play” program sponsored by a grant from the federal government and overseen by KDHE. Further information about the program will be given at a later time.***
Vaccinated Students
Vaccinated students that are exposed at both the low level and high level will continue to monitor for symptoms and encouraged to wear a mask during the 10 day exposure period.
