The USD 327 Board of Education has named Chris Delay as the Ellsworth Elementary School Principal for the 2022-2023 school year. Mr. Delay is currently a Language Arts Teacher in the Solomon School District.
Mr. Delay is a graduate of Abilene High School. He earned his bachelor's degree in education and Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Building Leadership Licensure from Emporia State University.
Having spent 22 years as a classroom teacher, Mr. Delay is no stranger to new challenges. He has taught 14 different courses and has taught in every classification, 1A-6A, in the state of Kansas. He has taken on leadership roles by serving a summer as the Executive Director of the Great Plains Theatre in Abilene and has served as the local National Education Association President for many years.
Mr. Delay brings a passion for new challenges and an enthusiasm for building community through education to the USD 327 District, and he is excited to continue the tradition of excellence at Ellsworth Elementary. He is married to Dr. Jenna Delay, Principal of Abilene Middle School, and together they have three children: Harlie (20), Dylan (18) and Kenlie (12).
Mr. Delay is thrilled to be joining the Bearcub family and absolutely cannot wait to meet all of his Bearcubs in the coming school year!
