Two 6th Grade KMS Students with Patriot Pen Certificates!

Each Fall, the local VFW chapter sponsors the "Patriot's Pen" essay writing contest, which is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.  This academic year, the title was"WHAT MAKES AMERICA GREAT". Students at KMS in 6th Grade were invited to enter this contest through their ELA Class.  The winners of this year's competition have recently been released.

Drum Roll....1st-3rd place in the Patriot's Pen Essay Contest....

1st. Thaddeus Donley - 8th grade, Donley Ranch Schoolhouse $50

2nd. Cooper McGowan - KMS 6th grade $25

3rd. Sophie Shepherd - KMS 6th grade $15

First and Second essays were also sent on to the District competition! 

Congratulations to the winners and I hope all participants feel they are winners for taking the opportunity to enter the contest.
