The Ellsworth High School National Honor Society inducted 13 new members last Monday night, August 28, 2023, at their ceremony at the Ellsworth Jr/Sr High School Performing Arts Center. The new inductees were Maggie Bohl, MaLaney Brantley, Will Donley, Cadence Halfhill, Danica Hicks, Aidan Johnson, Elena Jundt, Dax Leiker, Riley Rodriguez, Vincent Stambaugh, Ty Sunderland, Allie Thomasson and Lexi West.

Parents and families were invited to join the inductees along with a teacher of their choice. The guest speaker of evening was Mrs. Deena Hilbig, Superintendent of USD 327 Schools. The ceremony concluded with the serving of cake and punch.

Students who earn a 3.5 GPA or higher may apply in the spring of their sophomore year. The application process includes the submission of two letters of recommendations (one from a school staff member and one from a person outside of school), to address the student's service, character, leadership and scholarship. The candidate then is interviewed by a faculty council which is made of five members. This faculty then votes to accept or decline the application.
