Title I School-Level Parent and Family Engagement Policy
2025–2026
Ellsworth Elementary School is committed to fostering strong partnerships between families, educators, and the community to support student success. In collaboration with Title I parents, community members, teachers, and staff, the school has developed this written Parent and Family Engagement Policy. We actively seek and value input through our PTO, SITE Council, surveys, and feedback shared during school events.
This policy is shared annually with families through multiple channels, including the Title I meeting, school and teacher newsletters, our website, Parent Square (P2), and social media platforms. It outlines the strategies and commitments aligned with district and state Title I guidelines to ensure meaningful family engagement.
Policy Goals
Our engagement efforts are guided by four core principles:
- Honor and recognize families’ knowledge and contributions
- Connect family engagement to student learning
- Create a welcoming and inclusive school culture
- Empower families to serve as supporters, advocates, and collaborators
Parent Involvement in the Title I Program
To ensure active and informed participation, Ellsworth Elementary implements the following practices:
- Annual Title I Meeting: Held at a convenient time, all parents of Title I students are invited and encouraged to attend. The meeting provides an overview of the Title I program, its requirements, and parents’ rights to be involved.
- Ongoing Engagement: Parents are involved in the planning, review, and improvement of both the Title I program and this engagement policy. Feedback is gathered through meetings and surveys to inform the development of the schoolwide program plan.
- Academic Communication: During parent-teacher conferences, families receive detailed information about student progress, grade-level standards, curriculum, assessment data, and available academic interventions in reading, ELA, and mathematics.
Building Capacity for Engagement
Ellsworth Elementary promotes meaningful interactions between families and the school through engaging literacy activities and events that are both educational and enjoyable. These efforts strengthen the partnership between home and school and support student achievement.
Accessibility
To ensure equitable access, Ellsworth Elementary provides information and school reports in formats and languages that are understandable to all families. We strive to accommodate parents and family members with limited English proficiency, disabilities, and those of migratory students, to the greatest extent practicable.
