Daisy Adams

Daisy Adams, 5th-grade teacher at Kanopolis Middle School, USD 327 Ellsworth, was recently awarded a $500 Classroom Grant by the Kansas Association of American Educators (KANAAE).  Any educator in the state of Kansas is eligible to apply for and win these awards. Mrs. Adams will use the funds to enhance her classroom reading library to include current popular titles as well as timeless reading books.

“KANAAE is thrilled to provide funding to purchase specific and important educational tools that will be helpful to the students,” said Garry Sigle, KANAAE executive director.  “As a professional association, we are committed to helping educators purchase items through our scholarship and grant program they may not otherwise be able to obtain.  We know it is the students who ultimately benefit.”

KANAAE is an affordable, non-union professional education association that provides legal and liability coverage for educators as well as teacher scholarships and classroom grants exclusively for Kansas educators twice a year.  The grants can help pay for a variety of classroom materials, and scholarships can be used to cover a wide range of expenses, including tuition, books, conferences, and workshops. Winners are selected by a committee of their peers from across Kansas.  The next application deadline is October 1, 2026, and all educators are encouraged to apply.  For more information, visit www.aaeteachers.org/awards.
