The PALS staff provides:
All students are welcome in the PALS room. We provide one on one or small group instruction to all students at KMS, not just students with special needs.

What is an inclusive school? An inclusive school is one in which all available resources are collaboratively used to meet the educational needs of all children. All students are placed in age appropriate classrooms. |

What is Class Within a Class? Class Within a Class is a delivery model that encourages shared responsibilities between general and special education staff. The special education staff teaches in small groups, one on one, takes notes, keeps track of assignments, or helps with planning of a unit or lesson. |

PALS Room Expectations of Students 1. Follow school rules - these are stated in the students planner 2. Come prepared (bring pencils, textbooks, student planner, assignment, three ring notebook) 3. Follow teacher directives 4. Do not disturb others 5. Work quietly |
| Study Hall/Tutor Time
Expectations
1. All late assignments will be completed first. 2. Assignments due the following day will be completed second. 3. Blue day assignments will be completed on blue days, and gold day assignments will be completed on gold days. |
| What Parents Can Do To
Help
1. Support your child 2. Support your school and teacher 3. Allow a time and place for homework to be completed 4. Give your child independence and allow them to advocate for themselves. |
