Mr. Travis Powell graduated from Hutchinson Community College in 1995 and Emporia State University in 1998 with a B.S. of Science in Education.  He started teaching here at Ellsworth in 1998 until 2000.  While here, he taught Biology, A&P, ABC, PT 1 and 2, Animal Science, and Science of Ag.  Mr. Powell was also a HS Assistant Football and Track and Field Coach. 

After leaving Ellsworth, Mr. Powell, spent 2 years at Bucklin teaching science and serving as Head HS Track and Field, Head JH Boys Basketball, and Assistant HS Football Coach.  He then left Bucklin and taught 9th Physical Education, Strength and Quickness, and Lifetime Sports at Syracuse High School.  Mr. Powell coached HS Football and JH Boys Basketball and Track and Field while at Syracuse. 

Mr. Powell is now teaching Biology, Physical Science, Anatomy and Physiology I and Anatomy and Physiology II.  He is Head HS Boys Basketball Coach and an Assistant Coach for the Track and Field program. 

Along with teaching at EHS, Mr. Powell enjoys lifting weights, playing with his kids, NASCAR, and watching college sports.  Mr. Powell and his wife Heather, married in 1996 have three children: a son, Trever, and two daughters, Morgan and Mallory.
