Mrs. Ploutz
4th Grade

Mrs. Kendra Ploutz began her formal education attending Geneseo Grade School, then graduating from Ellsworth High School in 1992.  She spent two years at Hutchinson Community College then transferred & graduated Cum Laude from Sterling College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and an emphasis in Learning Disabilities.  Since 1996, Mrs. Ploutz has taught at EES in a variety of grade levels.  In 2000, she earned a Master of Science degree in Administration and Leadership from K-State.  Currently, Mrs. Ploutz calls 4th grade home as she instructs students in the areas of reading, writing, and language arts.

 Mrs. Ploutz married husband, Shawn, on May 31, 1997, and they have had two children.  Daughter Blake is currently a second grader at EES.  Dalton, born with a Congenital Heart Defect, died on May 12, 2002, at the age of 3 ½.  Mrs. Ploutz promotes research of CHD’s, specifically through Dalton’s Heart Walk every spring.

 Each wheat and milo harvest, Mrs. Ploutz can be seen behind the wheel of a semi as she assists Shawn with their custom harvesting operation. In addition to spending time with her family, Mrs. Ploutz enjoys exercising, scrap booking, riding four wheelers, and reading.  She volunteers on a number of community committees and is active in the First Presbyterian Church.
